The Government censor warned editors of the anti-Semitic Universul and the Democratic Dimineata that the authorities would no longer tolerate that “mudslinging” campaign that has been in progress between them.
It was the feud between the two papers and incitement against the Jews by Universul that led to anti-Jewish disorders.
