Pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Paris attempted to break through police barriers outside the location where a Jewish event is set to take place. Police made four arrests Saturday night outside the Gymnase Theater in the center of the capital after demonstrators from the pro-Palestinian Joint Appeal for a Just Peace in the Middle East attempted to break through to the theater. The group has held demonstrations each night for the past week at the location, which is to be the site of a fund-raiser on Monday night that has been organized by the French branch of the Jewish National Fund in aid of social service support for Israeli soldiers. The group also appealed to a Paris court to order the banning of the event.
