The end of 1951 may well see the solution to the single most difficult problem facing displaced Jews in Europe — the future of the so-called “hard cores,” Moses W. Beckelman, director general of the Joint Distribution Committee’s overseas operations declared here today.
Mr. Beckelman reported that hundreds of aged, ill and handicapped DP’s, whose emigration had been delayed for several years are already in the Jewish State, or are scheduled to leave for Israel by the end of the year. Their care in Israel is being provided by the Joint Distribution Committee.
