That the Jews of Roumania still live under the shadow of menacing hostility from reactionary forces is the substance of a message which has come from Prof. Salo Baron of Columbia University who has just completed a tour of Roumania and who, according to an announcement issued yesterday by Bernard S. Deutsch, president of the American Jewish Congress, will present an important paper at the forthcoming session of the Congress in Washington, D. C., beginning Oct. 19.
Dr. Baron who is the Miller Professor of Jewish history and literature at Columbia University, went to Roumania at the behest of the American Jewish Congress and during his sojourn abroad of several months made important observations of conditions affecting the Jews in several different countries. On his return to the United States he will address the delegates from the various Jewish national organizations and communities through-out the country who will assemble at the Washington session.
