Prof. Martin Buber, world-famed philosopher and religious leader, was elected president of the Israel Center for the Advancement of Human Culture at its inaugural meeting today.
Premier David Ben-Gurion told the assembly that the center would serve to attract the finest scientists to Israel and to advance scientific activities here, and to advise the Government in its activities in research of national significance and in the scientific planning of the country’s development and to represent Israeli science in international bodies and in conferences in coordination with other countries.
