Prof. Abraham Halevi Fraenkel, noted German-Born mathematician, was today elected rector of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem for a two-year term. Prof. Fraenkel, who was born in Munich and served on the staffs of several German universities, came to the Hebrew University in 1928. He changed his first name from Adolf to Abraham after his arrival in Palestine.
