Prof. Giuseppe Levi, a member of the Italian Academy of Sciences and one of Italy’s leading physicians and anatomists, died here in retirement at the age of 93. He had been a leading figure in Italian culture, education and Jewish life.
Prof. Levi was repeatedly attacked during the fascist regime of Mussolini because of support he gave to known foes of the regime. He went into exile in 1938 after the introduction of racial laws in Italy and returned in 1945.
