Prof. Enrice Glicenstein, noted Jewish sculptor, has been commissioned to make the bust of the late Harry Lapidus, prominent civic, communal and philanthropic leader of Omaha.
The bust when finished will be placed in the Jewish Community Center as a permanent memorial to the memory of the departed leader, and is commissioned by the Jewish organizations of Omaha.
The Community Center was chosen as the permanent site for the bust because Harry Lapidus was one of the founders of the center and was its first president, serving as head of the institution for three years.
In addition to the bust, the establishment of a Community Trust Fund and Yahrzeit services will be Omaha Jewry’s tribute to his memory.
