The appointment of Prof. Edward Jandy of Wayne University here as U.S. cultural and public affairs officer in Tel Aviv has been confirmed by the State Department, it was reported today. Prof. Jandy, a sociologist, is not expected to assume his new post until after January 1, 1951, due to the housing shortage in Israel and the overcrowded conditions at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv.
