Prof. Julius Stone, 61, noted authority on international law, was named to head the staff of the Harry S Truman Center for the Advancement of Peace. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Hebrew University senate under whose auspices the Center will operate. The Center will be located on Mount Scopus where its construction is now proceeding.
Prof. Stone, a native of England, is associated with the University of Sidney, Australia and has occupied chairs in most of the leading universities of the world. He has written many books on various phases of international law and on problems of the peace. He was an official observer at the trial of Adolf Eichmann in Israel in 1961.
