Prof, Lowdermilk Taken Ill in Israel; Removed to Hospital in Jerusalem

Dr. Walter Clay Lowdermilk, famous American soil conservation expert, who came to Israel last week to attend the International Farmers Convention, was taken ill last night and was removed to a hospital. Dr. Lowder milk’s illness was diagnosed as double pneumonia. A medical bulletin this morning reported that he was “progressing.”

Dr. Lowdermilk was the originator of the Jordan River Valley project for use rf the Jordan’s waters. He beaded the land reclamation projects in tie Jordan valley in Israel, and founded the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the Haifa Technion.
