Prof. Salo W. Baron, noted Jewish historian, has been named to receive the 1969 Jewish Heritage Award given by B’nai B’rith for “excellence in Jewish literature.” The $1,000 award will be presented at the annual meeting of the B’nai B’rith Commission on Adult Jewish Education in New York on Jan. 19. Dr. Baron, 73, professor emeritus at Columbia University, is best-known for his monumental 12-volume, “Social and Religious History of the Jews.”
