Praise of the work of the Jewish Center was voiced by Professor Jesse F. Williams, of Teachers College, Columbia University, speaking before the seventh annual meeting of the Metropolitan League of Jewish Community Associations.

“The Jewish Center renders the highest service by teaching youth that life is significant and that the spiritual light which has been burning for generations shall not go smoking,” he declared.

M. Maldwin Fertig, president of the league, reported an increase in membership. Other reports were given by Rabbi Jacob Weinstein, Mrs. Nathan Straus, Jr., Leon Mann, Morris Talbot, Dr. Martin J. Loeb and E. J. Londow.

The following officers were elected: Mr. Fertig, president; Mrs. Jerome J. Hanauer, Congressman Isaac Siegel, Harry M. Marks, and Leon Mann, vice-presidents; Hugo H. Piesen, treasurer, and Milton Weil, secretary.
