Prof. Yuval Ne’eman, president of the Tel Aviv University, has announced that he is resigning from his university position to accept a senior post with the Defense Ministry. He has thus acceded to a request by Defense Minister Shimon Peres and has already begun to work in the Ministry on a part-time basis. As soon as he clears up some unfinished work at the university he will devote full time to his Ministry work, which will include being senior advisor to Peres. During the Yom Kippur War, Prof, Ne’eman, a reserves officer, was assistant to the Army Chief of Staff.
