Professor Albert Einstein, accompanied by Mrs. Einstein, arrived in Los Angeles yesterday and was escorted at once to Pasadena, where he will continue his research work.
Professor Einstein’s headquarters were established at the Athenaeum on the campus of the California Institute of Technology.
In a statement issued on his arrival, Professor Einstein declared: “I have come to California to consult again with my colleagues on matters of science. We wish to create a better and stronger interchange of thought. But more than ever before, I wish on this visit to promote international good will.
In the interests of good will, Professor Einstein will speak in an international broadcast on January 23rd.
He will remain in this country for two months, and plans to sail for Germany on March 15th, from New York Harbor.
A renewed attempt to have Professor
Einstein barred from admission to this country was made by Mrs. James Cunningham Gray, of the Woman’s Patriot Corporation at Boston, who requested the California immigration officials to refuse to recognize Professor Einstein’s visa and to bar him under the alien exclusion act.
