Rafael Cantoni and Renzo Levi, president and vice-president, respectively, of the Union of Jewish Communities in Italy, today resigned from their posts following the election of a new Jewish Community Council in Rome. The resignation was due to the fact that their party, the Progressives, was defeated by the opposing conservative group.
