Construction of the garment factories at the Highstown, N.J., federal agricultural industrial project for New York Jewish garment workers will get under way again, it was announced by Boris Drasin, chairman of the Workers Aim Association, after receipt of a telegram from Will W. Alexander of the Federal Resettlement Administration.
Mr. Drasin said the project, which occupies a 1,265-acre tract, will be completed Sept. 1. The project was held up by the opposition of officials of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union to the manufacture of garments at Highstown on the grounds it might harm the New York industry and the working conditions of New York workers.
Federal officials will take up the problem with labor leaders, Mr. Drasin said.
