A naturalization plan for Palestine resembling the naturalization laws in America was discussed today at the session of the political commission of the Actions Committee.
The project provides that immigrants entering Palestine receive their first papers immediately upon arrival, with full citizenship granted after residing in Palestine for the two-year period required by the law.
URGE TRIBUNAL
The commission also considered a plan for regulating the status of those who have entered Palestine illegally. Isaac Gruenbaum, member of the Zionist Executive in charge of the immigration department, proposed that a permanent tribunal be established to deal with irregularities arising in different countries in connection with the issuance of immigration certificates.
The next World Zionist Congress will not take place in Palestine, it was stated today, following yesterday’s decision by the Actions Committee that the Congress should be convoked at the end of August. The site of the Congress will be determined by the Zionist Executive.
