A dinner in honor of Dr. Cyrus Adler, at which $10,000 was pledged toward the campaign of the United Synagogue of America, was given here Monday night.
Dr. Adler discussed the work of the United Synagogue and conservative Jewry in general. The dinner was a farewell to Dr. Adler who, with Mrs. Adler and their daughter, sails Friday on the steamer Roma for a visit to Palestine. He was introduced by Rabbi Charles I. Hoffman, of Oheb Shalom Synagogue. Joseph Stern, who headed the reception committee, was another speaker. The affair was held in Temple B’nai Abraham and the arrangements committee included among others, Albert Hollander, Rabbi Julius Silberfeld and Rabbi Leon S. Lang.
