A memorandum requesting full and unlimited protection for Jews in the Saar was submitted to the French government today by the Committee for the Defense of Jewish Rights in Central and Eastern Europe. Senator Justin Godart is president of the committee, and Premier Pierre E. Flandin is honorary president.
The memorandum took exception to the one-year limitation on protection for the Jews in the event that the Saar reverts to Germany, pointing out that such protection is useless.
The committee is also negotiating with the French government on issuing labor permits to German refugees equivalent to the number of French workers employed in firms founded by the refugees.
