Bishop G. Bromley Oxnam, chairman of the Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America, has expressed support of the Stratton Bill to admit some 400,000 displaced persons, in a telegram sent yesterday to Earl G. Harrisen, chairman of the Citizens Committee on Displaced Persons.
“I shared in preparing the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ resolution concerning displaced persons, and am happy to be recorded as favoring HR 2910,” the telegram read, continuing: “From the very beginning, I have believed the United States has a moral obligation to receive its fair share of displaced persons.”
