A leading Protestant theologian, Rev, Carl Herman Voss, told the 24th annual Institute on Judaism at Temple Emanu-El here that both Protestants and Catholics owed “a lamentably late” apology to the Jewish people. He said that Christians had not paid sufficient tribute to Judaism as the “mother faith of Christianity,” and that they had not done enough penance for “our stupidity” in keeping anti Semitism alive.”
