About 30 percent of the pupils at the Turin Jewish school belong to the Waldensian evangelical church, Europe’s oldest Protestant group, it was disclosed today in statistics on pupil enrollment.
Parents of the children prefer the Jewish school to Turin public schools because they dislike the Catholic confessional phases of Italian public school procedures and because they like the Biblical teaching provided by the Jewish schools. Turin Jews are reported to look benevolently on the large proportion of Protestant pupils in their school.
