The Nationalist Minister of the interior in the Federal Government, Herr von Keudell, has refused to withdraw the charge of betrayal of confidence which he made last July against Dr. Herman Badt, representative of the Prussian Government on the German Federal Council.
The Prussian Prime Minister, Dr. Braun, immediately protested against the charge and said that the Prussian Government guaranteed absolutely the loyalty and good faith of its official. The Reichsrat unanimously decided that Herr yon Keudell’s accusaiton has no foundation and demanded that Herr von Keudell should make a personal apology to Dr. Badt.
In the Reichstag Deputy Sollman, of the Social Democratic Party, asked Herr von Keudell whether he would not as a matter of personal honor make a public withdrawal of his charge against Dr. Badt. Herr von Keudell replied that he would not make any withdrawal.
