Premier E.C. Manning of Alberta, leader of the Social Credit Party in the province, has repudiated a report of his party’s policy taking board which contained a number of slanderous references to Jews.
In a declaration of policy, following the board’s publication of its report, ##ming said: “We condemn, repudiate and completely dissociate ourselves and the ##cial Credit movement in Alberta from any statements or publications which are in ##patible with the established British ideals of democratic freedom or which endorse ## incite anti-Semitism or religious intolerance in any form.”The United Zionist Council of America has expressed its appreciation of the ##adian Government’s announcement at the United Nations that it favors the UNSCOP ##ority proposal to partition Palestine. In a statement by Samuel J. Zacks, president the Council said that “Canada’s position constitutes another clear indication ## Palestine is an international responsibility of the family of nations.” It was to revealed that the Canadian Jewish Congress appealed to the government to back UNSCOP majority plan.
