An attempt to persuade leading German statesmen to resign from the recently formed German Pro-Palestine Comittee was made by the Central Union of Liberal Jews.
The Union has sent memoranda to leading statesmen who have joined the Committee, explaining the view of the Union on this matter.
It was learned today that Herr Becker, Prussian Minister of Education, who is a member of the Committee, replied to the Union, stating that he sympathizes with the sentiments of the Central Union of Liberal Jews, but he also recognizes the compatibility of Zionism and loyalty to Germany.
