Vassil Missolonghitis, one of the publishers of “Makedonika Nea,” the pro-government daily, was found guilty of responsibility for the publication of a series of anti-Semitic articles and sentenced yesterday to thirty days imprisonment.
The action was brought against the publishers of the paper by the public prosecutor. A co-defendant, Petros Lourvaris, was acquitted as were the directors of the paper. The court found that Missolonghitis alone was responsible for the articles.
The articles which caused the action appeared between November 15th and December 2, 1932. The Minister of War, General Kondylis, is reported to be the paper’s owner.
