A list of rabbis purported to have served the secret police of the Czar is published in today’s “Oktiabre.” The list is said to be based upon papers found in the archives of the former government and disclosed by the White Russian Academy of Science.
Rabbi Kaznelson of Oriol, Rabbi Yampolsky of Ekvira and Rabbi Elichaim Maizel of Lodz are included in the list, the latter, it is said, having systematically aided the dreaded Czarist police in their work of arresting Jewish Socialists.
