A renewed demand for complete control of Jewish life in Germany was made today by Zionist leaders, addressing a public meeting of the Zionist Federation in Berlin.
Kurt Blumenfeld, former president of the Zionist Federation of Germany, who is now working for the World Zionist Executive in Palestine, criticized the old trend of German-Jewish life and accused the non-Zionist Jewish leaders in Germany of having led German Jewry away from Jewishness. He demanded for the Zionists the right to control all Jewish institutions in Germany and claimed that they are today the leading force of Jewry.
“The Zionists are substituting German Jewry for unlimited Judaism in place of the limited Judaism which the non-Zionists preach,” Mr. Blumenfeld said. He criticized the attempts to make Palestine a land for saving individuals only.
