Quebec Jewish leaders are calling for a government inquiry into a recent university riot that led to the cancellation of a speech by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Sept. 9 riot at Montreal’s Concordia University was a “gross violation of our fundamental freedoms, as well as the academic freedoms a university should cherish and protect,” the Quebec office of B’nai Brith Canada said in a statement.
