Queen Mother Elizabeth participated in ceremonies here marking the opening of a new nursery and residential club at the Stepney Jewish Girls Club. The president of the settlement, Mrs. James de Rothschild, showed the Queen Mother around the club. Later the Queen Mother planted a tree in the playground and visited with club members. A ritual spice box was presented to her as a souvenir of the occasion.
