The American Jewish Congress is in receipt of a letter from the private secretary and chamberlain to Her Majesty Wilhelmina, Queen of Holland, expressing her thanks for the good wishes of American Jews on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of her reign, when the freedom and liberality of treatment which has so long been accorded to the Jews of Holland was recalled with gratitude in a contratulatory cable to the Queen.
The letter from the Chamberlain to the Queen to the Congress follows:
“The Private Secretary to Her Majesty the Queen is ordered to convey Her Majesty’s sincerest thanks to the Jewish organizations of America, represented in the American Jewish Congress, for the congratulations and greetings addressed to Her Majesty on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of her reign.
“Her Majesty highly appreciates the words which are contained in this message.”
At the same time there was received from S. J/ Sylvester, secretary to David Lloyd George a letter of thanks for a copy of the Zangwill Carnegie Hall address which was sent him. The copy of the address was sent him following a correspondence between the English Statesman and the notable Jewish author. The printing of the book was not yet complete when Lloyd-George sailed for England and a copy of the unbound printer’s proofs were dispated to his ship.
