Quinquennial B’nai B’rith Convention Opens Apr. 27

Some 112 delegates, representing several European districts as well as all seven districts in the United States, Canada and Mexico, will be present when Hon. Alfred M. Cohen, of this city, international president of the Independent Order of B’nai B’rith, calls to order the first session of the Thirteenth Quinquennial Convention of that organization at the Hotel Sinton, on Sunday, April 27.

This convention will hear reports of officers and committees accounting for their stewardship over the many activities of this organization which now comprises some 400 local lodges of over 60,000 members, and a total international membership of approximately 85,000.

Among the committees reporting will be those on Americanization, Anti-Defamation, Hillel Foundation, B’nai B’rith Magazine, Finance, Junior Auxiliaries, and Social Justice.

The last previous general convention took place in Atlantic City in April, 1925. The coming convention will hold its concluding sessions on Wednesday, April 30.
