A reunion with relatives and old friends of his boyhood days was enjoyed here by Ralph D. Blumenfeld, famed editor and contributor to the Jewish Daily Bulletin, on his arrival to lecture at the Grand Avenue Congregational church.
Scenes of his youth in Milwaukee and nearby were revisited by R.D.B. and receptions were held for him by his relatives. Several old-time telegraph operators, colleagues of Blumenfeld in his youth, were at the station to greet him when he stepped off the train.
Among the relatives who welcomed him were: A. A. Stallman. city clerk of Watertown, Wis., his boyhood home, in which his father, David Blumenfeld, was a widely-known editor; M. F. Blumenfeld, his brother, of Madison. Wis., and several nieces, nephews and grandnieces, of Milwaukee.
In his address here and in interviews, Mr. Blumenfeld declared that “Germany has run amuck under insane leadership” and that its policy, if pursued, “will lead to her destruction and to the ruin of civilization.”
“Fascist Germany has no friend left in Europe,” he said.
Mr. Blumenfeld also urged collaboration between Great Britain and the United States to preserve the peace of the world.
