Denial of a statement ascribed to him by Jacob Rosenheim, president of the Orthodox Jewish world organization, Agudath Israel, was issued here today by Rabbi A. J. Kook, Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi of Palestine.
Mr. Rosenheim stated that Rabbi Kook had “urged Orthodox Jewry not to participate in the Keren Hayesod collections.”
Rabbi Kook emphatically denied this, declaring in his statement that he never uttered a word against Orthodox Jews participating in the Keren Hayesod. He expressed indignation at those Orthodox Rabbis who had prohibited Orthodox Jews from participating in the Keren Hayesod.
