Rabbi Theodore L. Adams of New York was elected president of the Synagogue Council of America last night at a plenary meeting of the Council, the central organization representing rabbinic and congregational associations of Conservative, Reform and Orthodox Jewry. Rabbi Adams, a past president of the Rabbinical Council of America, succeeds Rabbi Abraham J, Feldman of Hartford, Conn.
President Eisenhower sent a message to the Council in which he paid tribute to Rabbi Feldman “for bringing strength to the nation and hope to the free world” during his leadership of the organization.
