The Jews in Poland are now physically more secure and their desire to emigrate has consequently decreased greatly, Rabbi Barnett Brickner, vice-chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, who arrived here from a tour of Poland, declared today.

He said that the increased security as well as the winter weather and reports of poor conditions in camps in Germany were responsible for the reduced flow of emigrants. He added that he believed that the Jewish community of Poland would survive, but that it would not be a large one.

In Czechoslovakia, he declared the primary need of the Jews this year is reconstruction aid rather than direct relief such as was needed last year. The situation regarding assistance is the same in Poland where the youth still wishes to go to Palestine. Rabbi Brickner, who is visiting various countries in Europe on a U.J.A. mission, will procede from here to Austria and Hungary.
