“The real mission of the rabbi is not to teach and not lead fads and movements,” Rabbi Beryl d. Cohon of Temple Israel, Boston, declared in delivering the baccalaureate address at the seventh annual commencement of her New Jersey Normal School for Jewish Teachers at Temple B’nai Jeshurun here.

Rabbi Solomon Foster, president of the faculty, told the audience of 600 persons that, with the advent of the fall semester, it is planned to add courses of general Jewish interest for adults and rename the school the College of Jewish Study.

Dr. Leon Mones, dean of the faculty, gave the commencement address and Dr. M. Ernest Townsend, principal of Newark State Normay School, presented diploma to eleven graduates. Rabbi Leon S. Lang offered the invocation and Rabbi Herman L. Kahan gave the benediction. Miss Jeannette Silverman gave the salutary and Miss Rae Bergman the valdictory.
