Rabbi Joseph Zvi Dushinsky was officially installed this afternoon as Chief Rabbi of the Agudath Israel (ultra Orthodox Jewish organization), in the presence of government officials, the consular body, including the German consul, and officials of the Agudath Israel.
The Mayor of Jerusalem, the Czech consul, the Sephardie Chief Rabbi, the director of the Agudath Israel, Rabbi Blau, and others spoke. In his reply, Rabbi Dushinsky declared that he would continue the work of Rabbi Sonnenfeld, the late chief rabbi, and that he would aim to build up a strong Jewish Orthodoxy at peace with the other Jewish communities and the non-Jews.
