Rabbi Maurice N. Eisendrath, president of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, has been elected executive head of that organization for life, it was announced here by Dr. Samuel S. Hollender, chairman of the Union’s executive board.
“This action,” Dr. Hollender said, “is a tribute to Rabbi Eisendrath’s inspired leadership during the past decade. Since he became its president in 1943, the Union had experienced an unusual period of growth, adding more than 150 new congregations to our membership rolls. It is the unanimous desire of the Board that Rabbi Eisendrath continue his consecrated and zealous devotion to the Union.”
