Rabbi Elliot M. Burstein has been elected to fill the pulpit of Temple Beth Israel, San Francisco, it was announced by Judge Isador M. Golden president of the congregation. He will succeed Rabbi Herman Lissauer who resigned some months ago to accept a call to Los Angeles.
Rabbi Burstein’s installation has been set for Sunday, November 6.
The new rabbi of Beth Israel comes here from Portland where for a year he occupied the pulpit of Temple Ahavai Sholom, Prior to that he was rabbi of Congregation Montefiore in Salt Lake City for three years.
