Rabbi Fredric Kazan of Philadelphia has been named resident dean of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College here, it was announced by Rabbi Ira Eisenstein, college president. The school opened last September with 13 students. Rabbi Kazan will oversee daily operations of the college. He will also be responsible for the development of the program that will bring Jewish scholars to Philadelphia for a series of public forums and meetings and will also tutor the second year rabbinical students in Talmudic texts.
