Rabbi Irving Lehrman, rabbi of Temple Emanu-El of Miami Beach, Fla., has been appointed by Secretary of State William P. Rogers to the National Commission for UNESCO (United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization), a body of prominent citizens which advises the U.S. Government on UNESCO matters. Rabbi Lehrman, who is vice president of the Synagogue Council of America, succeeds Rabbi Julius Mark, a past president of the Council who previously served as its representative on the UNESCO Commission.
