Rabbi Jacob Kaplan was elected Grand Rabbi of France here last night at a meeting of the Consistoire called especially for the purpose of electing a successor to the late Grand Rabbi Isaie Schwartz, who died in July 1952. Rabbi Kaplan has been Acting Grand Rabbi of France since the vacancy of the post and is also Grand Rabbi of Paris.
