The Chief Rabbi of Palestine, Rabbi A. I. HaCohen Kook, and the executive of the Mizrachi, orthodox Zionist organization, today issued a call asking orthodox Jews not to participate in the World Jewish Law Congress, which will open its sessions in Tel Aviv on Sunday.
The congress was called for the purpose of reviving traditional Jewish law and applying it to modern Jewish requirements, and to establish a modern Sanhedrin as a supreme Jewish authority in Jewish legal problems.
In his message Chief Rabbi Kook declared that the initiators of the congress were unqualified to carry through such an undertaking.
