Rabbi Leisor Shotland is happy, his wife is happy, the community is happy—and his baby boy, now weighing ten pounds, is home.
It is the rabbi’s first child, and when born ten weeks ago, the baby weighed exactly two-and-a-half pounds. For five weeks the baby was in an incubator, but now the baby is home. The circumcision ceremony was held this week, and Rabbi Rosen of Passaic was in charge.
Rabbis from Brooklyn, Newark, and New York were present. It was a happy occasion, and orthodox. Jews celebrated with Rabbi Shotland.
