Funeral services took place here today for Rabbi Lee J. Levinger, a former national chaplain of the American Legion and a prolific writer on Jewish themes, who died here last Friday at the age of 74, Born in Burke, Idaho, Dr. Levinger was ordained by the Hebrew Union College and served as a U.S. Army chaplain in the First World War. He then served as Hillel director of Ohio State University and was later field representative of the Jewish Welfare Board in California and Washington. His books dealt with anti-Semitism, Jewish history and theology.
