Rabbi Louis D. Gross, founder and publisher of the Jewish Examiner, a weekly newspaper published in Brooklyn, N. Y., until 1956, died here yesterday at the age of 78. He had also served as spiritual leader of Union Temple in Brooklyn. The Jewish Examiner was merged with the American Hebrew eight years ago. It is now known as the American Examiner.
Born in Chicago, Rabbi Cross was graduated from the Hebrew Union College and the University of Cincinnati. He was active for many years in raising funds for Palestine.
