Rabbi Morris Lieberman of the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation has been appointed chairman of the National Jewish Welfare Board Armed Forces and Veterans Services Committee, Louis Stern, JWB president, announced today. He succeeds the late Walter B. Heller of San Francisco.
Rabbi Lieberman was formerly chairman of the JWB Commission on the Jewish Chaplaincy and has been a vice-president of JWB since 1964. He is vice-president of the board of governors of the United Services Organizations (USO) and was a U.S. Army chaplain from 1942 to 1946, serving in the Normandy campaign.
