Rabbi Samuel Marks, former head of the Temple Beth-El and long a prominent resident of this city, died today after an illness of six months.
Rabbi Marks, who lived in this city for the last thirty-four years, retired from his rabbiship in 1920. He was a thirty-second degree Mason and Chaplain of the Elks and Shriners for thirty years.
He was the first Reform rabbi in Montreal, Canada.
